Online Training Resources
In addition to hands on training that the academy provides, there are vast amounts of online training resources. Some of the online training provided by USAV an PAVO might require you to be a member to receive the full benefit and credit for the training. Joining one or both of those two groups is something you'll likely do as a serious volleyball official. Consider visiting the links below to strengthen your volleyball rules knowledge.

Apparel and Equipment Resources
Part of being a professional volleyball official is being professional. The first step in that is looking professional. Every governing body requires a specific volleyball official polo while working as an official.
For USAV, AAU and NCAA matches, the main polo shirt color is white, but there is also blue and grey. Check with your governing body or match coordinator to verify what is required. Everyone should have a white Certified Volleyball Official polo (available by clicking the first link below), navy blue slacks, black or blue belt, white athletic socks and white athletic shoes. This will allow you to satisfy the minimum uniform requirements for working USAV, AAU and NCAA matches.
UHSAA requires high school officials in Utah to purchase a different white polo shirt with the UHSAA logo. Those are available by clicking the second link below. Additionally, high school officials are required to wear black slacks, black belt, black athletic socks and black athletic shoes. This will allow you to satisfy the minimum uniform requirements for working UHSAA matches in Utah.
Additional required equipment is a whistle, watch for time keeping, yellow and red sanction cards, ball pump, air pressure gage, flipping coin and a net measuring chain. All of these items can be found online from various vendors or on Amazon.
It is advised you have a copy of the USAV Indoor Domestic Competition Regulations (DCR) for use at USAV and AAU matches. Additional rules manuals may be required for NCAA and NFHS (high school) matches.
